The Sedalia Public Library is getting ready to start our Winter Reading Program. This program is for preschool - 12th graders and our theme is "Mystery of Reading". Children/Parents may sign-up starting
and the program ends February 17.
They must have a library card because books have to be checked out of the library to count.
Four Mysterious Grand Prizes (one for each reading log level)
Nonreaders (PreK-Kind) 10 easy books read to them
Beginning Readers (1-3) Read 10 easy books, chapter books count as 2
Chapter Readers (3-6) Read 5 chapter books that are at least 60 pages long, every 60 pages read counts as a book)
Youth Readers (7-12) Read 5 books that are at least 100 pages long, every 100 pages read counts as a book)
If you have any children who have reading disabilities, we do adapted reading logs. The parent can come in ahead of time and talk to me about reading goals and I type up a special log with that child's goals on it.
If you have any questions or would like a poster for this program, please feel free to call or e-mail me.
