Our History, Our Pride
Generations of families have called Sedalia home—and for just as long, Sedalia 200 Schools have been a cornerstone of our community.

A City with Roots
From the railroads that put Sedalia on the map to the Missouri State Fair and Scott Joplin’s ragtime music, our community’s story is full of milestones worth remembering.

A Legacy of Learning
Sedalia 200’s first schools opened in the late 1800s, and Smith-Cotton High School welcomed its first students in 1925. Since then, our district has grown, but our mission has remained the same: helping students learn, grow, and succeed while carrying on the Tiger tradition.

Our history is still being written. Click the buttons below to explore our growing gallery of photos and memories—updated regularly as we add more pieces of Sedalia’s story.
