Senior Profile: Ashley Fisher

JROTC Cadet Ashley Fisher

Ashley Fisher is well known at Smith-Cotton by students and teachers for her energetic and outgoing personality.

Fisher has been involved in many activities including JROTC, Student Council and track. Among her honors in these activities are a dance award, Athlete of the week, military excellence award, distinguished service award, and raider award.

¨I have many good memories at Smith-Cotton,” she said. “Freshman year I medaled three times in track, and also got nominated for prom queen this year.¨ (Fisher was selected prom queen and Eli Herren won king honors.)

Fisher worked hard in school to get most of the credits done before senior year.

Jonathan Tester, a social studies teacher who had her in his World History and American Government classes, was a big influence to Fisher.

¨He is a great teacher who always encourages and pushes me to do my best,¨ she said.

Tester taught Fisher her freshman year and junior year, but has known her since her days at Horace Mann Elementary School.

¨Ashley is one of those students that is a joy to work with; she has an outgoing personality, always positive, upbeat and always does her best,” Tester said. “Ashley is someone who has an infectious personality, and others enjoy being around her.¨

S-C Principal Wade Norton complimented Fisher on her energetic personality. Another teacher who has influenced Fisher is Penny Pummill, who Fisher said ¨helps me when I need something, and is one of the greatest teachers I have ever met.¨

Fisher plans on going into the workforce after high school. She has applied for multiple jobs already.

¨In the future, I hope to be living on my own, and possibly married,¨ she said.
