Transitional Kindergarten

Transitional Kindergarten

  • Transitional kindergarten is designed to bridge the gap between Pre-K and kindergarten. This provides an additional year of early education for younger children who are kindergarten age, but have a summer birthday or do not quite demonstrate kindergarten readiness. Students will work through the kindergarten curriculum at a slower pace.

If your child turns five (5) in May, June or July, this pilot program might be beneficial to them. Children accepted into the transitional kindergarten program will be assessed at the end of the year to determine if their next path should be an additional year in kindergarten or moving on to first grade.

***Please note: If your child is not in the Heber Hunt boundaries, the parent/guardian will be responsible for providing transportation.

The school will notify the parents/guardians if your child is selected for this pilot program.
