Welcome to SC-NHS!
Scholarship, Leadership, Character, and Service
National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier serivce organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. NHS completes Community Service Projects throughout the year, provides Leadership, and displays the students of high charater and scholarship.
Smith-Cotton High School National Honor Society (NHS) has made it our mission to build tiny free libraries around Sedalia. NHS is completing a large scale community service project this year. We would like to build several tiny free libraries around Sedalia. A tiny library is a box raised off the ground with books where people can leave or take a book. More information can be found here. https://littlefreelibrary.org/. We will be collecting donations and books this year to help us meet our goal. We have put this project into several steps.
Step 1: District Wide Book Drive. COMPLETED!
Step 2: Book Sale: We will collect the books to have a book sale at Smith-Cotton High School in the library commons. This sale will take place Nov. 17th from 3 pm to 9 pm and November 18th from 3 pm to 7pm. Come see what we have to offer. All proceeds will go to building supplies.
Step 3: Building and Installing the tiny libraries. We hope to have the tiny libraries installed by the end of April.
Please help us accomplish our goal!
