Joe Hulsey, Head Boys Wrestling Coach

Coach Hulsey, a Special Education Teacher at Smith-Cotton Junior High School, has a lifetime of experience in wrestling, starting wrestling at age 5.  He wrestled in high school at Coweta, Okla., where he was a three-time state champion in Freestyle and Greco, a two-time High School All-American, placing 4th and 7th at Fargo Nationals, and an AAU Ironman National Champion.  After high school, Hulsey went on to wrestle at Missouri Valley College for two years.  After ending his competitive career, Hulsey was an assistant coach for 5 years for the women's wrestling program at Missouri Valley College.  He was an assistant coach at Smith-Cotton High School for 3 years before moving up to take over the program in 2020, 

"The sport of wrestling has given me so much over the years and I look forward to giving back some of the knowledge and life lessons the sport has taught me to our student athletes so that they can continue to grow and achieve their potential and goals,” Hulsey said.
