Smith-Cotton JROTC Veterans Day Breakfast & Service
Each year, the Smith-Cotton High School JROTC program organizes a Veterans Day Breakfast & Service. Local veterans are invited in for a free meal prepared by the cadets and their families, then the cadets put on a reverent ceremony to honor veterans from all branches of military service. S-C vocal music students sing each branch's hymn and a keynote speaker, frequently a veteran, provides inspiring comments for both the veterans in attendance and the entire Smith-Cotton High student body and staff. The ceremony concludes with a 21-gun salute and the playing of taps.
